Associate Director, Production (Pharmaceutical CDMO)
Cole International is partnering with a leading pharmaceutical CDMO in the Midlands to appoint an Associate Director of Production. In this strategic leadership role, you will oversee the end-to-end manufacturing operations for Oral Solid Dose (OSD) products within a GMP-regulated environment, driving operational excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement across the function.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide strategic leadership and direction for all production activities, including drug product manufacturing and secondary packaging of clinical supplies.
• Lead, develop, and inspire a multi-layered production organisation, with direct and indirect responsibility for ~30+ FTE, fostering a high-performance, quality- driven culture.
• Act as a key site leader during regulatory inspections and customer audits, always ensuring robust GMP compliance and inspection readiness.
• Own and optimise production strategy, capacity planning, and resource allocation, aligning operational delivery with broader business objectives.
• Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives, leveraging data to enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality outcomes.
• Partner cross-functionally with Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Commercial teams to ensure seamless delivery of client programs.
• Champion talent development, succession planning, and leadership capability building across the production function.
Requirements:
• Significant leadership experience within a pharmaceutical manufacturing or CDMO environment, with a track record of leading leaders.
• Degree (or equivalent) in Life Sciences or a related discipline.
• Deep expertise in GMP-regulated manufacturing environments, ideally within Oral Solid Dose.
• Demonstrated ability to operate at a strategic level, influencing site-wide decisions and driving business performance.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and organisational leadership skills.
