Head of Engineering

Walker Cole International is supporting a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing organisation in their search for a Head of Engineering to join their Greater London site.

This is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing all engineering and technical operations across a GMP-regulated manufacturing facility. The role will focus on driving operational excellence, improving equipment performance, and ensuring the highest standards of compliance, safety, and reliability across site infrastructure and production support systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead all engineering and technical operations across the site, ensuring high performance and compliance
• Own and deliver the site capital projects portfolio, including CapEx planning and execution
• Oversee equipment qualification/validation and ensure effective maintenance strategies
• Drive improvements in equipment performance (OEE) and site operational efficiency
• Manage utilities, contractors, and cross-functional collaboration to support manufacturing

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Engineering or a relevant scientific discipline (or equivalent experience)
• Extensive experience within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
• Proven leadership experience in engineering or technical operations
• Strong background in equipment qualification/validation and regulatory compliance (FDA, ISO, Eudralex)
