Production Team Leader

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Production Team Leader to join a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing organisation. You'll be responsible for leading a manufacturing team within a highly regulated GMP environment, ensuring production targets are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll drive operational performance, develop your team and play a key part in continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop the Production Team to deliver the agreed manufacturing plan safely, efficiently and on schedule.

• Ensure all manufacturing activities are carried out in accordance with GMP, Health & Safety and regulatory requirements.

• Coordinate daily production activities to maximise resource utilisation and operational efficiency.

• Work closely with Engineering to ensure planned maintenance, calibration and validation activities are completed as scheduled.

• Maintain an audit-ready manufacturing environment, ensuring documentation, equipment and processes remain compliant at all times.

• Ensure all production records are completed accurately and reviewed promptly to support timely batch release.

• Investigate deviations, incidents and non-conformances, implementing effective corrective and preventative actions.

• Promote a strong culture of quality, safety and continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing team.

• Lead improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency, quality and operational performance.

• Manage team performance through coaching, mentoring, performance reviews and development planning.

• Identify training requirements and ensure team competency through structured development and cross-training.

• Provide technical support during manufacturing issues, planned projects and unplanned operational events.

• Deputise for the Production Manager when required, including supporting operations outside normal working hours where necessary.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced manufacturing leader who enjoys developing people, driving performance and delivering results within a regulated pharmaceutical or life sciences environment.

You'll ideally have:

• Previous experience leading production or manufacturing teams within a GMP-regulated environment.

• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing, sterile or aseptic manufacturing experience would be advantageous.

• Excellent understanding of GMP, Health & Safety and quality compliance requirements.

• Experience investigating deviations and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

• Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

• The ability to coach, mentor and develop high-performing teams.

• Confidence making decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
