Walker Cole International is exclusively partnered with a leading European pharmaceutical company based in Wales. They are searching for a Training & Development Lead to own the training and development agenda across their factory-based operations teams; from identifying learning needs through to designing and delivering the interventions that build capability on site.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning, developing and delivering complex training programmes across a range of formats, tailored to maximise learner engagement and achievement of outcomes.
- Developing testing and evaluation procedures, and evaluating instructor performance and programme effectiveness, recommending improvements where needed.
- Conducting or arranging ongoing technical training and personal development for staff, including orientation sessions and structured on-the-job training for new hires.
- Developing and organising training manuals, multimedia visual aids, e-learning content and other educational materials, leveraging learning management systems and digital learning tools.
- Owning the training plans for direct reports, ensuring all activities are trained to a competent level before being undertaken in line with company procedure, and proactively flagging any gaps to your line manager.
- Preparing and managing the training budget for the department, and briefing external consultants or providers to support delivery of key training initiatives.
- Delivering analysis of HR data to identify trends and contribute insights that support business performance, employee engagement and workforce planning decisions.
- Communicating the local action plan and how it links to the function's wider strategy, motivating the team to achieve local training and development goals.
- Helping develop and monitor the implementation of procedures relevant to training and capability-building within the department.
To be considered for this opportunity, you should possess:
- Demonstrable experience designing, developing and delivering complex L&D programmes, ideally within a GMP manufacturing environment.
- Extensive knowledge of cGMP regulations across various regulatory authorities including FDA, MHRA and EMA.
- Strong working knowledge of training programme design, learning evaluation methods and measuring training effectiveness.
- Experience using learning management systems (LMS), e-learning platforms and multimedia/AV tools to deliver instructional content.
- Confidence managing a training budget and briefing external providers or consultants on delivery.
- Experience supervising or directing people and resources to deliver against tight timeframes, with a track record of developing others' capability.
