Walker Cole International is supporting a leading and Global pharmaceutical organisation in the appointment of a Medical Affairs Consultant to provide strategic and scientific medical support across the European region in a fully remote capacity.
This position will focus on delivering medical affairs activities across cross-functional teams, supporting scientific exchange with external stakeholders, and contributing to the development and execution of medical strategies within a highly regulated pharmaceutical environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring scientific accuracy, compliance, and alignment with business and patient needs across EU markets.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide medical and scientific expertise to support medical affairs activities across European markets.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, and external stakeholders.
- Support the development and execution of medical affairs plans aligned with brand and business objectives.
- Deliver scientific and clinical presentations to internal and external audiences.
- Review and approve promotional and non-promotional materials to ensure compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.
- Provide medical input into cross-functional projects involving commercial, regulatory, market access, and clinical teams.
- Support medical education initiatives, advisory boards, congress activities, and investigator-sponsored studies.
- Respond to medical information enquiries with accurate and balanced scientific communication.
- Maintain awareness of therapeutic area developments, competitor activity, and relevant clinical data.
- Ensure all medical affairs activities are conducted in accordance with company SOPs, EFPIA guidelines, and applicable compliance requirements.
Required experience and skills:
- Proven experience within Medical Affairs in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
- Strong understanding of EU pharmaceutical regulations, compliance standards, and medical governance.
- Experience engaging with healthcare professionals and KOLs across multiple European markets.
- Excellent scientific communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to interpret and communicate complex clinical data effectively.
- Experience supporting medical strategy and cross-functional collaboration.
- Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or Medicine (PhD, PharmD, MSc, or MD desirable).
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects independently in a remote environment.
- Fluency in English required; additional European languages desirable.
