Walker Cole International is supporting a UK-based life sciences organisation specialising in the distribution of solid oral dose pharmaceutical products in the appointment of a GDP QA Consultant. This role will provide expert quality and compliance support to ensure distribution activities operate in full compliance with UK GDP requirements within a regulated supply chain environment.
This position will play a key role in strengthening and optimising the organisation’s Quality Management System (QMS), supporting inspection readiness and ensuring robust governance across wholesale distribution activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide GDP quality oversight and consultancy support across wholesale distribution operations
- Review and assess the current Quality Management System (QMS) and identify gaps, risks and improvement opportunities
- Ensure compliance with UK GDP and applicable regulatory requirements
- Support the development, remediation and optimisation of GDP quality processes, including:
- Deviations and investigations
- CAPA
- Change control
- Complaints and recalls
- Returns and falsified medicines processes
- Document and record management
- Supplier and customer qualification
- Support inspection readiness and preparation for MHRA GDP inspections
- Review and update SOPs, policies and quality documentation to ensure GDP compliance
- Provide guidance on transportation, warehousing and distribution best practice
- Support supplier and third-party oversight, including Quality Technical Agreements
- Collaborate with Quality, Supply Chain, Regulatory Affairs and Operations to ensure compliant and efficient distribution activities
- Provide training and mentoring to internal teams on GDP requirements and quality best practice
- Support ongoing continuous improvement initiatives within the QMS
Required Experience and Skills
- Proven experience as a GDP QA Consultant or Senior GDP Quality professional
- Strong working knowledge of UK GDP and wider GxP regulations
- Experience working with Wholesale Distribution Authorisations (WDA)
- Experience supporting and hosting MHRA GDP inspections
- Demonstrable experience in GDP QMS remediation and improvement
- Strong expertise in deviations, CAPA, change control and supplier management
- Experience overseeing distribution of finished pharmaceutical products
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Able to operate effectively in a hands-on, on-site contract role
